The Greater Good was founded in 2016 with a vision to benefit and serve the greater good of humanity in the Northern Virginia and surrounding areas, as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) told us, “The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people.”

This vision is accomplished via our projects, which focus on two core domains:

  • Education – Educating Muslims and non-Muslims about the teachings of Islam.
  • Action – Putting Islamic teachings into action in our local communities.

Within these two domains, we focus on: Adult Islamic Education / Dawah to non-Muslims / Social Services and Community / Youth Programs

Our projects are enacted in our local communities to help individuals become better human beings thus becoming better Muslims. All our projects are in accordance with the Qur’an (Last and Final Message from God) and the teachings of the Last and Final Messenger of God, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Why is the tree theme used by The Greater Good?

Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, a beautiful phrase (testimony of faith) like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky?

It produces its fruit all the time, by permission of its Lord. And God presents examples for the people that perhaps they will be reminded.
